Untitled Movie Poster

This was my first time creating a professional movie poster, and I wanted to make it memorable. I took inspiration from legendary artist Drew Struzan and decided to use graphite and airbrush in significant ways. I tried to capture the joy and energy of film in my art, and these techniques would allow me to do so. I spent hours drawing and painting, trying to capture Struzan's aesthetic as best as possible. When the poster was finally done, I was happy with how it turned out and proud to have created something that captured the film's essence. This project was a wonderful learning experience for me, and I hope to have the opportunity to make more posters in the future.

The Process

To create this artwork, I began with a simple sketch that I transferred onto Gesso-board using a projector. I then rendered the image in grey tones with a 6B pencil and added color with an airbrush. I used color pencils to bring out details and highlights, and since the scene was set at night, I applied another coat of black acrylics with the airbrush to increase contrast. This process allowed me to create a detailed and dynamic image that captured the mood and atmosphere of the scene.
