Live Action Film-Incipient Trailer
I had the opportunity to work as the storyboard artist on Incipient, an independent film set in a dystopian future where reproductive rights have been abolished, and prenatal deaths are investigated as murders. The story follows Maddie Colton, a young woman interrogated by a stern Agent Hughes while a police squad raids her home in search of evidence. Despite her pleas of innocence, she is ultimately arrested and charged with intentional abortion, facing a grim future in prison under the totalitarian regime.
My role involved translating the director’s vision into detailed storyboards that highlighted key moments and amplified the film’s visual storytelling. I focused on crafting scenes that conveyed the tension and emotional weight of the narrative, particularly during the interrogation and raid sequence. By using techniques such as lighting, composition, and precise framing, I was able to effectively capture the characters' psychological tension, body language, and mood, ensuring the story’s intensity translated powerfully to the screen.
Working on Incipient allowed me to contribute creatively to a compelling and socially relevant story while further honing my skills in cinematic storytelling for dystopian narratives.
