Johnnie Walker x Squid Game in Times Square ft. Lil Dicky
I had the privilege of collaborating with Hunter PR on an exceptional live event for both Netflix and Johnnie Walker in the heart of New York City. This immersive experience took over Times Square, showcasing our work across three prominent billboards, including the iconic TSXC billboards and the renowned red staircase.
The event featured comedian and rapper Lil Dicky, who participated in a live-action recreation of the "Red Light, Green Light" game from Netflix's hit series Squid Game. Fans gathered to witness the iconic animatronic doll from the show towering on the surrounding billboards as the game unfolded, making it an unforgettable moment.
This collaboration also celebrated the launch of the limited-edition Johnnie Walker Black Label "Squid Game" bottles, numbered from 001 to 456, symbolizing the player count in the series. The bottles were uniquely designed, featuring the Striding Man logo dressed in the series' signature green tracksuit—a perfect blend of Johnnie Walker's heritage and Squid Game's cultural impact.
Interactive elements like the Recruiter engaging fans in the Ddakji game and the presence of Pink Soldiers roaming the area further enhanced the immersive nature of the event. The result was a dynamic fusion of brand storytelling, entertainment, and experiential marketing in one of the world's most iconic urban settings.
